About VydicAI
A platform dedicated to making ancient Hindu scriptures and Sanskrit literature accessible through modern technology, while preserving the sanctity and accuracy of the original texts.
Our Mission
Bridging timeless wisdom with modern understanding
VydicAI was created with the belief that the profound wisdom contained in Hindu scriptures should be accessible to everyone — regardless of their familiarity with Sanskrit or the traditional methods of scriptural study. We combine careful scholarship with AI technology to create a study experience that is both authentic and intuitive.
What VydicAI Offers
Structured Reading
Browse scriptures through their natural hierarchy — mandalas, adhyayas, padas — with a beautiful, distraction-free reader.
Four Display Modes
View any verse in Sanskrit (Devanagari), English transliteration (IAST), English translation, or Hindi translation. Compare side by side.
Deep Search
Find verses by keyword or meaning. Hybrid search combines full-text and semantic retrieval for comprehensive results.
AI Study Companion
Ask VydicAI about any verse or concept. Every answer is grounded in authentic sources with inline citations you can verify.
Grounded & Cited
The AI never fabricates verses or claims. Every factual statement is linked to a specific passage or commentary source.
Open & Accessible
Built on public domain editions and open data. Designed to be accessible to scholars, students, and curious minds worldwide.
Our Approach to AI
VydicAI uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to ensure that every AI response is grounded in actual scripture and commentary text. When you ask a question:
- Relevant passages and commentary are retrieved from our database
- The AI generates an explanation using only these sources as context
- Every claim is linked to a specific citation you can verify
- If sources are insufficient, the AI will say so rather than fabricate an answer
We take a neutral, respectful approach to religious content. Where interpretations differ across traditions, VydicAI presents multiple perspectives and identifies them as such.
Corpus & Coverage
